Attraction:

Yehliu Geopark

Yehliu is a cape of about 1,700 meters long formed by Datun Mountain reaching into the sea. When overlooked from above, the place is like a giant turtle submerging into the sea. Thus, it is also called ”’Yehliu Turtle”. The place is divided into three sections. The first section has rocks like Queen's Head, Fairy's Shoe and Candle. The second section has rocks like Bean Curd, Dragon Head. The third section has sea-eroded caves, seal shaped rock, etc. The place is suitable for geological study and field research. In addition, there is a statue of Lin Tien Jane in commemoration of the person's bravery of scarifying own live for saving others. The monument describes in details the touching story.

Jiufen Old Street

There are four relatively well-renown streets in Jiufen among which includes Jishan Street, otherwise known as Dark Street. Rain or shine the street never sees the sun’s rays of light and it is usually packed with people, particularly on weekends and holidays. The other three streets also frequented by visitors are known as Cingbian Road, Ciche Road and Jianci Road. It is recommended that tourists slow down, for on these ancient lanes and alleys, perhaps when least expected, a picture perfect moment shall be availed of the careful eye.

Shifen Old Street

Shifen Old Street is a bustling hub for those eager to get a glimpse of an old railroad town which still retains the charm of yesteryear. Originally built to transport coal, the Shifen Old Street stop has now become one of the most popular on the Pingxi rail-line. It is easy to see why so many are drawn here - local food, souvenir shops and puffing trains add to the charm of this little gem, as well as make it a fantastic place for photography. The sky lanterns at Shifen Old Street are of particular note. Once used as a signaling system for those living and working in the railroad industry, visitors today paint their wishes with calligraphy before releasing the lanterns into the sky. We think Shifen Old Street is one of the best stops on the Pingxi Line, but if you have time, jump back on the train to visit some of the other stations, offering gentle mountainside strolls, sky lanterns and an up-close look at the early days of train travel and coal mining in Taiwan.

Tangweigou Hot Spring Park

Jiaoxi is a township in the north of Yilan County, where the natural underground hot spring is the main draw that has continuously maintained its title as one of Taiwan’s most favoured weekend hideouts. The hot spring here is also known as a “beauty soup,” something that beautifies your skin with all its natural minerals (but definitely not for drinking). While at Tangweigou Park, you are going to experience something bizarre but brilliant — a spa treatment where doctor fishes would eat away the dead skin (or keratin) of your feet, whitening the skin of feet and enhancing skin smoothness while you dip your feet into the hot spring pool. From the main entrance, the park opens up to reveal an extensive foot bath area (free of charge), and there are even some partially outdoor hot springs entered while fully in the nude. If you are looking for something more private, the central part of Jiaoxi is packed with hotels, and most of them offer temporary access to spa facilities with an entrance fee. Now, pack your swimming gear and have fun soaking in Jiaoxi.

National Center for Traditional Arts

This new 24-hectare facility is located beside beautiful Dongshan River in Yilan. In addition to organized displays and performances of culture and art, it also provides a stage where performing artists can show off their creative works. The emphasis here is on the continuous propagation, innovation, and renewal of traditional arts. You can stroll casually among artistic creations, listen to elegant music, and enjoy exciting opera performances—and you can even participate in the process of artistic creation yourself. From the Center, you can take a boat and visit the Dongshan River Water Park.

Hualien Yunshan Fantasy Lake

Yunshanshui Natural Ecological Farm is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien, between the Central Mountains and Coastal Mountains in the East Rift Valley. It covers an area of about 24 hectares, of which the Fantasy Lake area is about 4 hectares. The blue dreamy lake water comes from the Central Mountains. The water is clear and creates a moving scenery under the sunlight. In addition, the beautiful clouds, mountains and water on both sides are reflected on the lake. The dream-like scenery makes it known as the " Fantasy Lake". In addition, the Yunshanshui Natural Ecological Park is planted with many plants, such as coconut groves, palm trees, bald cypresses, poinciana trees and aquatic plants. There are also large areas of green grassland and many wild animals, creating a stunningly beautiful place & community.

Marasan Hunter School

In the hunter school, wear the most authentic traditional Ami costumes, along with a love bag (commonly known as a betel nut bag, which can be used to store daily necessities and hints to others that you have a partner), and receive the hunter qualifications of traditional bows and arrows and slingshots. Test, listen to the culture and wisdom passed down by the elders, use fresh bamboo from the mountain as utensils to make natural bamboo-flavored rice, and also tell you how to catch prey with wisdom and fish smartly, which is the ecological wisdom of restoration! At the end of the trip, enjoy aboriginal-style soup, including a pot of "wild vegetable soup" made from a variety of seasonal ingredients, which is both healthy and full of original flavor.

Starbucks - Hualienbay, Ji'an

The only container Starbucks in Asia; Kengo Kuma, the master of weak Japanese architecture, is the first to use containers as the main building material in Hualien, Taiwan; through the design image of a large tree with branches and leaves, 29 containers that have sailed to major ports around the world cantilevered. Give the cycle rebirth.
